Eric LifschitzEric L. Lifschitz is a chemical patent attorney who started a solo housing rights practice in 2002. While LEDA Law has grown, it remains committed to Eric’s vision of representing tenants who suffer from substandard housing conditions. Eric’s zealous advocacy was honored in 2003 when he received the Jack Berman Award from the California State Bar’s young lawyer division, and in 2005, when the California State Senate recognized him for his work with the Volunteer Legal Services Program.

In 2004, he served as the District 4 Representative of the California Young Lawyers Association for the State Bar. Eric’s commitment to volunteer work in the area of eviction defense has earned him awards as an Outstanding Volunteer in Public Service in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 (Awarded by the Volunteer Legal Service Program to the top 10% of Volunteer Attorneys in San Francisco.) Eric is currently a Director of the Eviction Defense Collaborative, the esteemed non-profit that provides free legal services to San Francisco tenants facing eviction. Eric enjoys cooking and can usually be seen with his dog Bazel.

Eric received his juris doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and earned his bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Michigan. Eric is a member of the State Bar of California, a licensed patent attorney, and admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Eric is also an independent inventor and endeavors to engage himself in areas of art, photography and cooking.
